A spotless day recorded by the LSC as F10.7 Flux gets close to sub 90

We are, according to the theory, in at or approaching Solar Max. The Layman’s sunspot count has recorded another spotless day. The pretence that the sun is ‘ramping up’ for solar max surely cannot be continued any longer?

The flux at 93 is low and whilst the lowest recorded is ~64 the base level is 66 to 70 SFU. When you consider that at Max individual values can be as high as 300 SFU, and the mean might be 200+ SFU, this cycle is a long way off for being so close to Max, or not as the case might be.
